Bouabré’s work depicts scenes and symbols of the daily life, folklore, mythology, and spirituality of the Bété people. The Bété are a group that comprise 93 subgroups throughout Côte d’Ivoire. Each card in this lot is bordered by text describing the scene within. Please find transcriptions of the text with English translations below.
