Two individual works on paper have been laid to canvas to form one image. Irregular edge and newsprint visible at right center of upper edge. Seam of two works visible at right center. Minor breaks, cracks and splits visible to paper when viewed in raking light. Both images are unfinished and likely sketches with unpainted areas visible at upper right and lower left corners. Minor areas of abraded paint. Minor scattered retouch under ultraviolet light. Wax visible on lining on verso. Moderate wear and losses to frame. Background was previously overpainted to conceal seam and unfinished corners. The work was recently cleaned to reveal the individual images.
